
Basu Chandola is an Associate Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, where his work focuses on the governance of the digital economy, including artificial intelligence, data governance, competition law, cybersecurity, and digital public infrastructure. He has been closely involved in shaping India’s and global conversations on emerging technologies, including through his secondment to the India AI Impact Summit Secretariat under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, where he contributed to research, drafting, and negotiations for the Human Capital Working Group. He has also previously worked with the G20 Secretariat under India’s presidency, contributing to key deliverables such as the G20 High-Level Principles on Harnessing Data for Development and supporting other major engagements.
