Ishita Deshmukh is a Research Assistant with ORF’s Centre for Security, Strategy & Technology.

Her work focuses on how artificial intelligence is reshaping national security, economic competitiveness, and state power. She is particularly interested in comparative national AI strategies, limits of current technical approaches, and emerging societal and ethical challenges.

Ishita was previously a freelance consultant for two startups, MindHug LTD and NeuroAtlas (Mar-Nov 2025), and before that a Graduate researcher at UCL (2023-2024).

She holds a Master’s (MSc) in Neuroscience from University College London, and a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the University of Birmingham.
