Purushraj Patnaik

Purushraj Patnaik is a Research Assistant with the Centre for Digital Societies at Observer Research Foundation (ORF). His research focuses on the governance of emerging technologies and digital constitutionalism, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence regulation, data protection, algorithmic accountability, cybersecurity, digital competition policy, financial technology regulation, and the strategic dimensions of information and digital warfare. His work examines the intersection of law, technology, and public policy, especially in the context of India’s evolving techno-legal regulatory framework. Purushraj has previously interned with ORF, the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, Nishith Desai Associates, and Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, where he worked on arbitration law, financial regulation, open banking systems, international commercial courts, and comparative legal frameworks. He holds a B.B.A. LL.B. (Business Law Hons.) from KIIT School of Law, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. His writings have appeared in ORF publications, the RGNUL Financial Mercantile Law Review, the Indian Journal of Criminology and Criminalistics (Ministry of Home Affairs), and legal blogs on technology, arbitration, and commercial law.
