The year 2023 was an exciting year for think tanks. The diverse group of ORF experts continued to captivate the attention of readers from various sectors—students, government officials, academia, and stakeholders—through insightful research and analyses. Over the year, they produced nearly 200 Issue Briefs and Occasional Briefs.
In our annual look back at the long forms, 10 of them stand out prominently as they mirror the wide range of relevant topics covered by ORF centres and programmes.
This year’s top long-form demonstrates the ongoing interest in cyber warfare. It assessed the cyberwarfare context in the Indo-Pacific and reviewed the military cyber capabilities of the region’s countries. Meanwhile, the runner-up sought to analyze China’s efforts at modernising its army for the past 10 years. The list also includes other important themes such as multilateralism, the rise of middle powers, the G20, artificial intelligence, climate change, and just transition.
