Laura Bonsaver
Laura Bonsaver is a British Italian researcher based in Taipei. Her research focuses on UK-China and China-Taiwan relations, specialising in soft power and the role of digital media in shaping perceptions of other nations and societies. Her broader interests include cultural diplomacy, international security, and migration.
She currently works with the Taiwan NextGen Foundation, examining the influence of Chinese social media on Taiwanese youth. In addition to her research, she serves as a Co-Director of Young China Watchers London and as a consultant in communications.
Laura has previously worked for UNESCO and Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government. She has chaired and spoken at high-level events, bringing together diverse organisations and sectors to share insights on China and global affairs. She earned an MSc in International Politics (Distinction) from SOAS, University of London, along with several academic awards. She speaks English, Italian, French, and Mandarin Chinese.
