Shalini Rudra

Shalini Rudra was an Associate Fellow with Observer Research Foundation's (ORF) health initiative. Her primary research interest is in examining gender relations in health and how they manifest in influencing health behaviours. Her research involves various disciplines like social demography, health economics, development studies, and data-driven research. At ORF, she is part of an ongoing, large-scale data repository work that will culminate in a health observatory. Shalini is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the Centre for Social Medicine and Community Health (CSMCH), Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is studying gender differences in coping with Diabetes Mellitus. She obtained her M. Phil. in Development Studies from the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum, completing her degree with a dissertation on 'The economics of health care financing: An assessment of health expenditure by households'. She has a Master's degree in Population Studies from the International Institute of Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.
