Lia Valls Pereira holds a PhD from the UFRJ Institute of Economics. She is an Associate Researcher at Fundao Getlio Vargas and is a member of the Faculty of Economics and the Department of International Relations at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Her primary research area is international trade and international political economy on which she has had several publications and has conducted studies for the Brazilian government and international agencies.
