
Katie Earnshaw is the Policy and Research Advisor at the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network. She coordinates ISWAN’s work to strengthen the representation of seafarers’ voices in global policymaking through its consultative status at the International Maritime Organization. She also contributes to a range of ISWAN initiatives relating to seafarers’ health, safety, and wellbeing, with a particular focus on identifying emerging or under-recognised welfare issues through insights from ISWAN’s helplines. Before joining ISWAN, she was the policy and research manager for a national homelessness organisation in the UK. She holds a doctorate from the University of Cambridge.
