Since the abrogation of Article 370, there is an uneasy calm in the region. The spike in violence and terrorism in recent weeks has brought into sharp focus the evolving security paradigm in the Kashmir valley — and to an extent — the Chenab valley. The appearance of new militant outfits such as ‘The Resistance Front’ has signalled Pakistan’s effort to up the ante in Jammu and Kashmir, and give the violence a veneer of a secular and indigenous movement. On the other hand, the political system is under virtual suspension with most political leaders maintaining silence on pressing developments as well as the constitutional changes implemented last August.

The webinar aims to bring together expert voices to discuss the current situation in the Union Territory and deliberate on how the security situation is likely to evolve as well as the roadmap for restoring the political process in the region.
