Rice price increase hits Myanmar - 04 April 2008

April 1: Soaring rice prices across Asia have hit Myanmar as well, with sources in Yangon reporting price hikes of nearly 14 percent over the past week, from 22,000 kyat to 25,000 kyat (US $19.80-$22.50) for a 38 kg bag.
